Re: Designing & turning difficulties
Sat, September 8, 2007 - 12:04 AMI rode in it and "contraption" doesn't begin to describe the inner workings...I could feel the chains stretching to near breaking points as I was pedaling and turning.
The pedals roll both wheels forward, and there is a small handcrank to the rider's right that is cranked one way or t'other to turn it. The crank turns a chain that essentially counter rotates the wheels - that's the best way I can describe it. If you are moving forward it introduces an offset, and you turn. If you are not pedaling you turn in place. -

Re: Designing & turning difficulties
Sat, September 8, 2007 - 3:03 PMit's crazy hippie technology with a bit of rube goldberg thrown in so we all have something to ponder while it's swirling all around us. The home made disc brake rotors were cool too. -
