There's gotta be some place in portland that has em, or could fab one for not that much money. If you come up with nothing, there are a couple of people I can put you in touch with in the SF bay area. -

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Sat, April 19, 2008 - 9:55 PMThey are available from that site. They even sell used ones occasionally but are still well over $2000 and some require you pick them up in Florida rather than ship. Great idea however as I have been looking (dreaming) of a surrey also. -

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 1:32 AMI found one right here on tribe that another Burner was selling three months ago. I'm in the process of rebuilding the seats and covering them in faux fur.

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 7:15 AMHave you considered one of these?

I've build both one and two person models. They work great
on the playa and can be fairly easily built out of salvage materials.
Best of luck,

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Thu, April 24, 2008 - 8:42 PMI was visiting in Phoenix over Spring Break and found this recumbent trike for sale on Craig's List.
Here's a link to the picture on my tribe page.

It steers from the back and acts like a sand skimmer. Loads of fun to drive around!
It was made from excess bicycle and etc. parts. -

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 10:03 PMThat's what I like to refer to as "Tank Steering" -- it takes some getting used to, but is a lot of fun!

Re: I'm looking for one of these
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 11:38 PMI'll try to get some photos this weekend.
Tank steering. That's about right!! When you push the right handle forward it goes left. the left handles goes right. It does take some getting used to but is very fun!!
